Rhyme & Reason Day Care Inc is a private, family run, fully licensed child care centre that has been in operation since the year 2000.

Our program is a reflection of research, theory and practice that is consistent with Ministry of Education policies, pedagogy and curriculum. We continually explore various curriculum styles and ideas to try and enhance and advance our pedagogical leadership which in turn will benefit our children. We reference the following Ministry documents to increase our knowledge, to be reflective and to build partnerships between communities ,families , teachers, and children :

Our Programs
The educational programs at Rhyme & Reason Day Care Inc. were created with our children’s interests and needs in mind. In this way we will be able to ensure they can mature and develop in a safe yet stimulating environment and at their own pace .

From language and literacy development to social skills and creative expression, the children at Rhyme & Reason Day Care Inc. are constantly being exposed to new activities and environments in which to thrive and grow and development into their fullest potentials. Toddler program

We cater to children 18 months to 30 months
Full time and part time enrollment available
We pride ourselves in our small class sizes
10 toddlers with two staff

This is achieved by focusing on emotional self regulation , labeling emotions and encouraging the use of language.
And through the use of positive reinforcement both verbal and non-verbal, just to mention a few.

Preschool Program
A Perfect Fit
We cater to children 2.6 years to 4 years of age
Full time and part time spaces are available
We pride ourselves in our small classroom sizes
16 preschoolers to 2 staff
We focus on :
Speech and Language Development
Social and Emotional Development
Fine motor skills Development
Gross motor skills Development
We also focus on allowing the children to problem-solve for themselves through encouraging the use of verbalization , language expansion and expression .
The staff act as mediators to help the children solve their own problems.
The staff encourages the children to make the right choices and to assist them in their thinking process through questioning.
We also focus on self help skills , math and literacy just to name a few...

Before and After School Care

We cater to children 4 years old to 12 years old
We pride ourselves in our small group sizes
24 children with 3 staff
Enrollment includes transportation to and from St. Ambrose Catholic School, Lanor Junior Middle School and Sir Adam Beck Public School.
It includes a morning snack , afternoon snack and lunches on PD/PA days.
The focus is on self-control, self-direction and self regulation .
Use of positive verbal and non-verbal communication to develop positive friendships .
The use of peer-mediation for conflict resolutions , just to name a few....
